The author is an Assistant Professor teaching philosophy at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Manila).

He is newly appointed Director of the Institute of Cultural Studies, while serving as concurrent Chief of Center for Social History. He edits the Mabini Review, a journal of ideas published by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension and Development. He also co-edits the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities published by OVPRED.

He was a fellowship recipient of the 12th Iligan National Writers' Workshop held in Iligan City, Mindanao, Philippines, in 2005. Some of his creative works have appeared in the Panorama and the Philippine Graphic, and other international electronic poetry journals.

The author is currently the Secretary of the Philosophical Association of the Philippines.
He is a member of the Philippine National Philosophical Research Society.

His philosophical researches/papers have appeared in SOPHIA, Journal of Culture and Religion (England), Journal of Politics and Religion (Poland), The Philosophical Association of the Philippines Journal of Ideas, and the PUP Journal of Theory and Exposition.

He finished graduate degree in Philosophy at the Ateneo de Manila University under a government-sponsored grant.
