This is a journal to explore the scared frontiers, those edges in my life that reflect the mystery and beauty of life that is both transcendent and immanent. These frontiers pretend to be hidden through the veils of ordinary life, yet are clearly visible in the natural world , and speak of things eternal and beautiful. I like to collect those words, images and stories that reflect this mystery …. that sing of an unknown world and beauty. That opens the heart and mind to a possibility of clarity and love in the world.

Who I really am is the context for my word. Language renders my context authentic to others. So these words are in fact a sacred frontier which makes context real and sanctifies it. So these words are the doorway into my life, that is the space in which I am in the world. Language doesn’t just describe the world, it creates it, so here with a thin veil of anonymity I can share a journey of practice, of a life lived in ancient mountains amidst a small community. I can share my travels at the sacred frontier, and the committment to a life of loving as service, surrender and devotion.

I live in Blackheath in the upper blue mountains in eastern Australia. I work in the world, am a father, meditator, writer and yogi. This online blog started out many years ago in 1996, not long after the internet revealed itself. I won a laptop in a national competition, so it seemed I was being encouraged to write. Many miraculous things came of that period of blogging, including a son, a new life, and then I fell into the blue and writing fell away for a time.

So its a joy to be here again with out of the blue in a different form, which like last time has seemed to quickly take on a life of its own. This incarnation here has been a joy to create and watch unfold. It has its own life, and takes hold of me when the muse is lit for something Real and heartfelt. Theres an endless ocean of superficiality and distraction at our fingertips now. May this site nourish you and feed you. We are all looking at the same screen. Who I am is who is looking.

Thanks for visiting. Warm invitations to add a comment and be part of the conversation here around the electric campfire.

Surrounded by these ancient world heritage forests of the blue mountains, out of the blue I share my heart and spirit as it flows from the deep well and mystery of being.

Jai Guru.
