Retired from a successful but stressful life in the Philippines, I am carving a simpler one in America (which two of my daughters now make home). Now I am able to stop and smell the roses, write of things that move me, sing to my heart’s content, dance till my feet ache, hang out with die-hard friends, read till the wee hours of the morning, go to places less traveled, paint or draw on art’s impulse, become renewed at a gym or spa, and cook to your heart’s delight. And just last August 8, 2008 at 8 PM on board the Champagne Lady on Lake Union in Seattle, Washington, I found my friend and partner. With him I am on track to finding the one thing that we could do together that will please the universe. Then the rest of our lives would truly be worth living, embracing our growing families (I have three daughters, two sons-in-law, and four grandkids and he has one son, two daughters, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, and five grandkids!) and lifelong friends with the warmth they deserve whether up close or from a distance, with the help of technology, and helping others, organizations and individuals, in need.
