My name is Sarah Dyson and I enjoy gaming, and all it has to offer while maintaining my real life relationships. My primary gaming experience has been Massive Multi Player Online Role Playing Games or MMORPGs. I have played games on all platforms (i.e. consoles, personal computers, and handheld devices) for the past 25 years. I have a Masters degree in information technology and project management. I am currently pursuing my PhD in social psychology to better understand cultural and social factors related to gaming.
I realize these games offer entertainment and relaxation for children; however, parents may not fully understand the role that games play in in their children’s life outside of gaming. I am writing this blog to provide information to parents regarding gaming habits; cultural aspects of gaming and offer suggestions that will help your child have a healthy gaming life. Gaming is fun; it can benefit your child’s coordination, multi-tasking, and risk analysis.
