Ling-Ling Shih 施玲玲

Ling-Ling Shih, PhD, is a Professor of Chinese Language and Culture at Bard High School Early College, Cleveland West and Chair of Chinese Program at Bard Early Colleges. At BHSEC, Dr. Ling-Ling teaches Chinese language, history, and culture. She received her Master's and PhD degree in Anthropology from State University of New York at Albany, another Master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Middlebury College, and a certificate in Translation Studies from University of Chicago. Prior to teaching at BHSEC, Dr. Ling-Ling has taught at Hope College, Grand Valley State University, and Nanyang Technological University.

She enjoys learning, reading, walking/hiking, outdoors, fitness exercises, healthy cooking, blogging/writing, and spending time with family and friends. Topics that currently interest her include history, socio-cultural study, cross-cultural study of health practices and concepts, self-development, personal finances and investment, as well as any topics that enhance her knowledge and skills in her professional career.
