I am autistic and I have sensory processing disorder. I'm also the mother of a child with sensory processing disorder. Children with autism and sensory processing issues grow to be adults with the same issues. I see much information and many services for children with autism and SPD and for the parents and caregivers of these children, but I see much less devoted to those children after they have grown to adulthood. This is not intended as a criticism, only an observation. I write for people of ALL ages with sensory processing disorder and the people who love, care for, or just want to understand them, because I believe that most adults with sensory processing disorder need at least as much love and laughter as they did when they were children.
