I grew up in a north suburb of Chicago and received a Journalism degree at Marquette University. My first job was at Leo Burnett advertising agency in Chicago and after ten years there, I couldn’t get to where I wanted to be so I turned to the banking industry. Realizing I wasn’t a banker, I quit and started to write, finding inspiration from my years in Chicago and San Francisco. My essay “I Called You a Memoir” appears in The Magic of Memoir, Inspiration for the Writing Journey. My debut memoir, Under the Birch Tree, was published in 2018. My husband and I enjoy traveling, cooking fine dinners, and chasing our beagles in circles.
