I’ve always had a passion for cooking and creating recipes from an early age.
I have battled with alcoholism for many years and cooking has helped me to overcome these demons. Through ten years of active alcoholism I tried to maintain an interest in cooking and food and have gained many skills.
I’m living a sober life now and I know personally how hard it is to struggle financially, so that’s what inspired me to combine cooking with budgeting.
I find cooking a massive outlet to express myself.
I volunteered at a soup kitchen providing meals for people who were effected by alcohol and drug abuse. The food was provided by a local food bank and consisted of basic ingredients and I was challenged to create substantial, nourishing and flavoursome meals.
Its amazing what you can do with a little imagination, and how many you can actually feed on a tight budget.
