When you’re nice to people, they get it… and most of the time, they’re nice to you, too… unless they’re having a really bad day or they’ve got a personality/mental disorder and need to take meds. Bottom line, most people are really nice back to me and probably why I’m so well connected and taken care of. I’m far from perfect (i.e. I drink way too much coffee, I spew out random quotes from Monty Python and I don’t do a good job of trimming my split ends on a regular basis). I work hard. I play hard. I love my family and my friends really rock. There’s a Big Guy upstairs that has a great sense of humor and sometimes I think He made me His honorary court jester. We get along pretty well. I’m a big dog kinda girl. When I grow up I want to be a professional beach bum. Until then, I wear my Lubbies and carry my Birkin so I can blend into the crowd.
I'm a big believer in paying it forward. I give back to the community who gave so much to me and my family. I use my experience in pageants and modeling to help those 20-30 yrs younger surpass all that I achieved. AND because I live along the Texas/Mexico border and am infiltrated by drug cartels and high levels of alcoholism and substance abuse in this region, I have devoted my heart to those to seek refuge from addiction. I don't judge. I just help.
My professional experience from the age of 19 to now has almost all been in Economic Development and Real Estate with a forte in marketing. This is serious cool stuff having a real time Sim City game going on! Thank goodness Godzilla never crashed through my little towns.
I was asked one time to be the love of his life for the rest of his life. I said yes. That was almost two decades ago. It is difficult to keep a marriage going this long especially when so many around us no longer respect the sanctity of marriage vows. And it seems that the happier and longer we try to make it, the more people try to take it away. We are not perfect by any means but we do try. But best of all, he's still the one that makes my heart go pitter patter.
My time in front of the camera has passed. Yes, I used to be hot and have photographic evidence to prove it! But I now find myself on the other side of the lens with a desk and love it. And don't dare say I've let myself go. I'll punch you. It's hard to live up to what I once was. I've reprioritized my life and believe I've made the right choices. Looking the way I used to was a very selfish stage in my life. It was fun while it lasted.
I run marathons, triathlons and century rides and am the first to have won the TRIPLE CROWN for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in South Texas. I double dog dare you to join me in any workout.
I am a techie geek, love photography (when I can afford it), get enormous pleasure from all genres of music and secretly wish I could spend a week with Keanu Reeves, Trent Reznor, Julia Roberts, Robin Williams, Justin Timberlake, Oprah and the Dalai Lama... not all at once, of course. The personalities of all in one room for a week would be too intense. But it should tell you that I get along and admire all types of personalities and see the good in all. If a personality does not get along with me, please refer back to the first paragraph here.
