Matilde Mbulo was born on the 12th of July 1980 at the Maputo Central Hospital, in Mozambique.
While in high school, in boarding school in Kenya, she discovered her passion for writing.
“I hand wrote poems, articles and short stories because they made me happy.” She said when asked why and how she chose to become a Writer. “I didn't know exactly what I wanted to be. I thought I would become a Lawyer or Psychologist. I actually have a BA degree in Law and a second BA degree in Psychology, and I started but didn’t complete a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. I worked in a lot of areas including Human Resources and the legal field but somehow the only time I really enjoyed what I was doing was when I was writing. Writing poetry, articles, novels and nonfiction books is not something I learnt in college or anywhere else for that matter. It's just something I started doing to occupy my time. A hobby I stumbled upon. I had (and have) no training to do this: I just write what's in my heart. When I’m writing everything falls into place, the world around me fades away and with it, my problems, and I find myself in this bittersweet zone I call my heaven, where I can be anything I want to be and do anything I want to do.”
Matilde describes herself as an Author and Writer dedicated to analyzing everyday issues through her very own unique lens, which is reflected in her books.
She has authored five books and is currently simultaneously writing three books: two novels and one non-fiction book.
